Mary Moragne Celebrates a Special Birthday
Delta Sorors
The Moragne Clan
Line Dancing (a new one too)
Line Sisters( Racine is missing)
Mary's interests & Hobbies
Guess what? Mary Elois Moragne celebrated her milestone birthday, February 10, 2008. Would you believe that this was a surprise party for "always in charge" Mary?
Her sister, Imojean (Skip) , line-sister, Paulette Nickens Simmons and friends , Peggy Odom, Ruth Payton, Joan Spencer and Laura Webb   hosted  this surprised birthday party and for once, "always on top of things" Mary, was not in charge and completely flabbergasted.

Somehow, Laura managed to take Mary on a "joy ride" with the pretense of stopping by the GATHERING PLACE COMMUNITY CENTER to pick up something before going out to celebrate her birthday.  When Mary entered the beautifully decorated club house and heard her friends ( about thirty of them) yell "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and begin to sing , it was all she could do to hold back the tears of joy and surprise.
But then her only brother from New York came in from behind the curtains on the deck, followed by her sisters and nieces from New York and cousins (from Promise Land, SC)  and the "shouting and screaming " was on !
After the hugging, kissing, shouting and crying was almost over, in rolls her mother (from NY)  pushing a walker, and more shouting and screaming!
The surprises didn't stop there, Mary's "line sisters" (Delta Sigma Theta) from different parts of the country walked in and Mary did a little shout and we thought that she was going to do a "Step Show".
After eating a scrumptious dinner with "sinful desserts",  and listening to the DJ play a lot of oldies which included jazz and  the "electric slide" ( old and New version) ,we danced,we shared experiences and gave reflections; we checked out the bulletin board which displayed Mary's hobbies( gadgets, cell phones, digital cameras, computers etc),we toasted Mary, and the Delta sorors serenaded her.Later, we  helped Mary take her many gifts to Laura's car.
But not before listening to Mary express her gratitude to all of us for an unforgettable birthday!
The way to go, Mary! You deserve every honor and gift for your birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Mary M Young
