AROUND THE  ABA

It is with regret that we announce the demise of Bernice Rigmaiden, widow of Roscoe Rigmaiden, of Philadelphia, on October 23rd. Bernice had been in ill health for a number of years and resided in a nursing home.

Bernice was a community worker who raised funds for her catholic church, St. Therese, and for her political party where she remained active for more than 20 years. You may remember Bernice giving you a raffle book when you came to her table. She was probably the most prolific fund raiser in the diocese.,

We remember Bernice attending every tournament there was with her three children in tow. These were on many occasions, our caddies. These caddies , along with the other caddies from around thr ABA, were "semi-organized" and I remember one summer  when they all threatened to go on strike because the powers that be haf promised them a raise and they didn't get it.

Bernice was 87.
Roscoe pre-deceased her by 12 years.
